Chapter 5: Fresh Snow
Classes are set to begin in a couple of days. I’m leaving Tillman Hall after registering for classes. I begin the long walk across campus to the Training Table (Our team cafeteria).
This time of year is a fury of activity. We upperclassmen call this Fresh Meat Week. All the new co-eds, whom we refer to as bunnies, are wide-eyed and bushy tail, finally out of their parent’s reach with a newfound sense of independence.
As I approach the sidewalk that crosses the Quad, I see her coming. I do a double-take to make sure I’m seeing what I think I’m seeing. My vision isn’t betraying me.
