I’m staring into the baby blue eyes of a goddess; my dinner date, Courtney. We are posted up at Mr. Ghetti’s, an Italian restaurant located in Spartanburg, SC.

Sparkle City is a 30 minute drive. We can do there, what isn’t possible for us in Small Town Friendly: have dinner in a public setting.

Courtney’s parents couldn’t phantom the idea of a their sweet baby girl dating and loving a hood brother from Ledbetter road.

But I digress.

The thing I love about Mr. Ghetti’s, check that, two things. The unlimited pizza buffet and the $1 pitchers of draft beer. This is Court’s favorite restaurant, but my first time.

“Are you nervous about the big game Friday night?”

“No, I think if we play to our capability we should win. Although I’m a bit apprehensive about playing Statesville on their home court. I don’t believe it’s fair to play on the other team’s home court with so much at stake.”

“Wow, I never thought about it that way. If we could play all the games that determined who went to Regionals on our home court it would be a huge advantage.”

“Do you plan on attending?” I ask.
