Keisha

A Poem

--

We drank, we danced, we made love while our children sleep. You pleaded for another chance, thinking about what we lost, made you weep.

Days later I’m over to pick up the boys, he’s there holding your hand. Keisha you make me so confused, please help me understand.

You don’t want me but you won’t let me go. Like the weather in April, sometimes it’s rain, sometimes it’s snow.

Keisha I hate to see you smile. Keisha I hate to see you sad.

You say you love me but not in love, your heart and mind belong to another. A million others in the world, how could you forsake me with my baby brother?

My heart forever broken into a thousand pieces, I died a thousand excruciating deaths. I can hardly breathe, still racing against the wind, desperately trying to catch my breath.

Keisha, I hate to see you smile, but more than that, I hate to see you sad. Honey, I hold no grudge, you are my first love, oh what a time we had.

Below are more of my poems for you to enjoy.
