For new writers or even experienced writers on Medium. Allow me to prove from a firsthand account how engagement with your fellow writers can increase Views to your own articles & stories.
First allow me to define what a Fan is. A Fan on Medium is any reader that gives a Clap after reading your story or comment. Unlike the past, where the number of Claps was a reward. Medium acknowledges your work after you receive 10 such Fans. Check out the screenshot below.
My comment started with Rebecca, the name of the author of the article I commented on. So whether you receive 1 or 50 Claps, the Almighty Algorithm acknowledges the Clap as a Fan.
