“Are you for real?” I asked.
“What do you mean?”
“You are so down to earth, easy to talk with, and even easier on the eyes.”
“Kade, I could say the same about you. I think you bring out the best in me.”
Before she can finish, I pull her close, and we kiss. Her lip gloss makes Tessa taste like peppermints.
“I realize we just met, but I’ve had my eye on you for a year now. I just never got the nerve to pursue and let you know how I feel.”
“After ending an abusive relationship, I thought I would go out on a limb and tell Taylor that I had a huge crush on you. She said you guys were friends, and here I am.”
“Wow, I’m flattered. I’ve admired you from afar. I still have the football program where you and your sissy are on the front cover.”
“You were so, or shall I say, still sizzling hot. When Taylor said a cheerleader was interested, I never imagined it would be you.”
“Aww, stop, you’re making me blush. Kade, my roommate, is spending the night with her boyfriend. Would you like to keep me company?”
