Prom night in Rutherford County is a holiday much like Halloween. The young adults from the local high schools dress in their costumes of penguin suits and a variety of dresses. From Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind to Madonna in her Like A Virgin video.
Kade and Amber post up at a quiet corner table at our local steakhouse. The restaurant is all dressed up for the occasion with streamers and fancy LED lights welcoming patrons with: Prom Night.
Kade is nattily attired in a traditional black suit, white shirt, and bow tie looking like Bond, James Bond. His date is looking like an African Queen with a gorgeous snug-fitting black lace dress that falls mid-thigh. Six-inch stilettos extenuate her long dancer legs and fabulous fanny.
Kade has spent the day in Courtney’s world, however, when he’s in the presence of a Queen, Courtney is a figment of my imagination.
They have a room at the Bighorn, a local hotel, that through the years became a place where sweet, sensitive co-eds go in as virgins and walk out nasty girls.
