A past love I assumed was gone forever comes crashing head first back into my life. Bella rings up my cell.
“Hi, Kade. This is Bella James. How are you?”
“Bella, oh my God hey there stranger how are you?”
“I’ve missed you,” she says.
“Boo, you are never far from my thoughts. What’s up?”
“I thought that since I will be in Charleston this Saturday for a wedding I was hoping to see you.”
“My Love I would walk 100 miles in 90-degree heat barefooted on black asphalt just to see your beautiful smile.”
She chuckles.
Her laugh warms my soul. I had tossed my feelings for my first love to the deepest dungeon of my broken heart. Bella’s father sent her off to boarding school once he found out about our love. She stirs something deep inside that neither Courtney nor Amber could ever hope to reach.
“How sweet of you to offer but such extreme measures will not be required. I hope to make the trip much easier. I thought we could meet halfway between Clemson and Charleston.”
