A Generational Curse
My Father’s Original Sin
God does not punish a new generation for the sins of a former generation. But God holds children who don’t learn from their parents’ mistakes accountable.
It is the responsibility of every generation to not repeat the mistakes of those that came before them.
The fact is, my baby brother was accidentally plowing his Hummer into the front end of an 18-wheeler while I was intentionally plowing his bride. Is something that haunts me daily.
After confessing to my grandmother, she tells of how our father was cheating with his co-worker at the dealership while mom was giving birth to my brother David. I am convinced of our family curse.
The son I bore with his uncle’s wife is akin to some tragic Shakespearean tale. I can only imagine the horrors that lie ahead in his life.
First, I must hear the story from my father’s lips. I’m not justifying what I did. However, it was his original sin.
